Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Mallya. I am just returning from a BOM-HKG Kingifisher flight in economy class. I was very impressed with the ad - Gourmet cuisine even in coach class, portions that put rival Business class meals to shame and more leg room than in your bed! I ditched my favourite SQ that I have been flying since Raffles set foot on Singapore land, and flew my Indian favourite KFA. First up, they don't fly direct from Bangalore. So, I had to transit through Mumbai. With due respect to GVK, Mumbai airport is at least 100 million years behind the other airports in the region. The inconvenience was more pronounced in the return journey where we had to wait for ages to get a coach to go to domestic airport, serpentine queues even to go to the loo and the typical "We are like this only" attitude everywhere.

Back to flight - I must concede that the leg room in economy was good by all standards. The IFE was limited to 5 Hindi and 5 English movies. They had such pathetic selection as Chandni Chowk to China, Luck by chance and other movies I don't even care to remember.

The crux of the matter - the much hyped gourmet cuisine. ROFL! The gourmet cuisine was a smaller than my palm nan, two tea spoonfuls of some vegetarian curry, a salad and a chacolate cake. Singapore Airlines gives 2 times more the quantity and the food is really far better than this. Will I fly again with KFA - Of course. Will I fly again KFA to HKG - Yes. But if they start BLR-HKG service.
